Facilities
Seven Springs is conveniently situated on Hamilton Road in Newmarket, the headquarters of horseracing. This prime location places the yard at the epicentre of The Jockey Club Estates Newmarket Training Grounds, offering unparalleled access to the best training facilities in the country.
Comfort and care
Our small, friendly yard features 21 meticulously maintained boxes, each designed to provide a comfortable and secure environment for the horses. These spacious and well ventilated stables ensure that every horse has a safe space to rest and recover. The boxes are thoughtfully arranged to promote a calm atmosphere, with careful attention to detail in their upkeep, reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of horse care.
Onsite facilities
The on site horse walker and lunge pen are essential facilities that significantly benefit horses' health, fitness, and training. The horse walker provides a safe, controlled environment for regular, low impact exercise, which is ideal for building and maintaining fitness levels, especially for horses in training or recovery. Meanwhile, the lunge pen offers a secure space for groundwork and training, particularly valuable for young horses or those returning from injury. By facilitating the development of balance, strength, and responsiveness, the lunge pen helps build confidence in horses, complementing the consistent, structured exercise offered by the horse walker. Together, these facilities promote the well being and fitness of horses, supporting their physical and mental readiness for racing.
Access to elite training grounds
Outside our gates are 2,500 acres of meticulously managed training grounds provided by The Jockey Club Estates, ensuring that we have access to facilities appropriate for all horses in our care, from yearlings to horses in rehabilitation, recovery or full work.
One of the standout features of Seven Springs is its proximity to the famous Racecourse Side gallops. Just a short walk away using the extensive system of designated horse walks, these gallops offer an ideal training environment for young horses and those returning to work after a break.

Notably on the Racecourse Side, Southfields Round provides a 6 furlong Ecotrack round canter ideal for introducing yearlings to cantering and Hamilton Hill, a three and a half furlong canter with a bend that finishes on an incline. It’s a great canter to get horses using themselves properly and installing confidence in young horses.
Unlike the busier Bury Side gallops, Racecourse Side provides a quieter and more controlled setting, making it the perfect introduction to The Heath. This less overwhelming environment allows horses to acclimate at their own pace, ensuring they gain confidence and build strength without the added pressure of a more crowded space.

Under the care of The Jockey Club, the turf on the Heath has been protected and nurtured for centuries, they ensured the Heath was not used for farmland during the wars and kept it free of railway lines and roads. With 50 miles of turf gallops, fresh ground is provided as appropriate each day.
