About Sam

From a young age, Sam's life has been deeply intertwined with the world of horses, shaped by her experiences in show jumping and eventing. Her early exposure to the racing industry began in her mid-teens when she took a part-time job riding out for Simon Earle in Wiltshire. This formative experience ignited her passion for racing and set the course for her future. By the time she graduated from university in 2013, Sam was already committed to a career in racing, transitioning seamlessly to full-time riding the very next day.

Background and early career

Having been brought up immersed in the disciplines of show jumping and eventing, Sam developed a profound connection with horses from a young age. Her foray into the world of racing began in her mid-teens when she took up a part-time job riding out for Simon Earle in Wiltshire. This experience solidified her passion for the racing industry, and she continued working with Simon Earle until she finished university in 2013. By the time Sam graduated, her dedication to racing was clear. She knew she wanted to build a career in this field and wasted no time in pursuing her ambition, riding out full-time the very next day after graduation.

Professional experience

Sam's professional journey is marked by significant stints with some of the top names in the racing industry. She spent five years as an assistant to David Simcock, where she honed her skills and deepened her knowledge of the sport. Additionally, Sam gained valuable experience working with renowned trainers such as Andrew Balding and Chris Waller. Her career also included an international dimension, with time spent at Coolmore Australia breaking in horses, which further enriched her expertise. More recently, she worked with Richard Morgan-Evans, continuing to expand her skill set across various equestrian disciplines.

Setting up on her own

With a wealth of experience gathered from different sectors of the equestrian world, Sam decided it was time to establish her own yard. Her diverse background, encompassing show jumping, eventing, and racing, equipped her with a unique perspective and a comprehensive skill set. This decision marked the beginning of a new chapter, where she could apply the lessons learned and the skills acquired throughout her career to create a thriving and successful operation
